We have a local LSA that is asking us to reconfigure a backup installation in 2(1 server for the Commcell and 1 server for the  Media agent)

The problem is that the original install was made on the same MA server(FUJITSU PRIMERGY RX2540 M4) which seems to have installed the software: Commvault Sapphire

Do you know any more details about this type of product??  honestly on the official page I did not find so much information

    Hi Stefan

The solution that you have purchased is known as Remote Office Appliance (RO1100). This a single Unit Appliance (using Fujitsu Primergy Hardware - 15TB of Disk Library Capacity)

This is a Windows based CommServe/MediaAgent configuration (can also be MediaAgent only, connected to an existing CommServe).

Upon first bootup, the installation uses a pre-packaged Image (Sapphire) to do the installation of the components and will automate the installation of Commvault Software, Disk Library, Index Cache and Deduplication.

Commvault Sapphire should be left alone, as it contains all the Commvault binary

In situation of corrupted OS or Commvault binary, the Sapphire installation files will allow you to re-configure and deploy the Server

    Hopefully that answers your query

    Hello Winston,

Yes,i think this is what they purchasedLaughing

From your point of view it's ok to leave it like this(MediaAgent and Commserve)or try to split them?

In the past we did not have Sapphire,is this a new type of appliance?

We want also to transfer some licenses(TB&Socket) from the old commserver but on this installed now, in the license status we have Edition Sapphire

Do you think that we can have problems with the license transfer(if they are compatible)?

    Many thanks for your support!!

    Hi Stefan

The configuration is all dependent on the setup of your environment.

If you already have a CommServe, you will configure the Remote Office Appliance in another locationa nd connect back to the CommServe.

This will only consume the license on the main CommServe
