NDMP backup

    hi 

     

    what is the fatest way to bacup the shares residing on NAS. i know NDMP works but its too slow, is there any other method available

    You can do a backup of the NAS using Windows UNC

    VSS won't be supported in this configuration so locked\in use files can't be backed up.

    Hi Hussain, What is the Storage vendor you are using and have you used NDMP NAS ida for backup, how you are considering it is slow. Also if you are using tape library as destination, Zone the tape drives to NDMP nodes and configure the tape drive from commvault end this will use your NDMP filer as a Media agent & backup performance will be better. Also if you have intellisnap license you could try deploying that(I haven't tried it)

    the storage is Netapp and secondly i havent seen any storage or backup application showing good performance using NDMP agent.
