this is the 4th Instance that I have come across wherein the customer's Mailbox backups are failing since they installed Windows updates/CU on Exchange server

All these senarios had Outlook installed on Exchange server

Customer installed updates and profile stopped working on Exchange server (Outlook and EXchange on the same sevrer)

I have checked the permissions via ADSI edit and access on webmail works and sevrice account can access other mailboxes

Outlook for the service account works fine on other server/worksation that we tested

however on Exchange server service account profile keeps prompting for a password; Outlook wnt launch; tried deleting/recreating profile; same result

In the 3 previous instances we ended up moving the Mailbox backups via a proxy node; it was a bit painful for the customer as the first full backup for the mailboxes took days

however in the current situation customer do not want to move to a proxy

case already logged with CV support and they advised to call Microsoft.

    any inputs would be appricaited

I've come across similar scenarios which were resolved by using a proxy.

Yeah to be honest, I'd like to know too. On one occasion disabling would have solved it, another it was an unresolved loopback/security issue.
