    Hello everybody,

We have now decided to consolidate the infrastructure and only outsource the backup to another location.
What used to be in two data centers is now in one.
In order to have some more security, the systems will be housed in two different sections and connected to each other.
The second data center will only house the storage for the backups.
Since we used to have a media agent in each data center, I now ask myself how we should best proceed in the new setup.
Has anyone here already had the same experience ?
Where should the two Media Agents be used now ?
I have two drawings attached. DCnow and DCnew.
    I'd appreciate your suggestions.

what bandwith is the connection between the two sections? If it can be done via DC-Cabling with high bandwith I'd do the following:

As the mediaagents are responsible for controlling the backupstorage, I'd place them in the same section as the backupstorage.

If section 1 (OnlineStorage + Servers) goes down you should still be able to restore the data.

    Just my 2 Cents.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, the subject has been settled in the meantime.
