Do I understand it correctly that for Application-Aware Backups (VMware), VMware VM snapshots are being used as the Application-Aware Backups? Do they follow the Retention Times and Data Aging of the Storage Policy Snap Copy?

    Commvault v.11 SP17.

I'm on v.11 SP15 and was under the impression that it leveraged VMWare tools and the supplied credentials to be able to access the guest OS and take backups of applications on VMs as if they had the respective agents on them. Is that not correct?

    Thanks @iConsultant for asking.
