    Hi,

The "Convert job to full" option for the Exchange Mailbox Agent (new, non-classic) archiving has been around since SP17.  Given that this iDataAgent is an Incremental Forever technology, and that even there is no such thing as a Full or Synthetic Full - what is actually happening here?  Does "Convert the job to full" re-download all the emails then re-copy the emails into storage, or is it a new technology to help Selective Copies (e.g. Tape)?

    Hi Anthony,

The use case for this option is not to act as a full in the sense of creating a cycle and allowing for tape out. It will essentially take a backup of all data currently in the mailboxes selected in the job.

It can be used to create a new "baseline" for a mailbox. It might also be suggested as a troubleshooting step by support.

    David

Thanks David for your reply. It definitely came across as being an engineering action that should only be used scarcely. What is of some interest to me is understanding what a new baseline would entail given the new Indexing V2 model. That is to say, does that mean that the Index Server Cloud has a new SOLR Database record for the same MSGID or does it repair the existing record in SOLR?
