    Hi All,

Recently we have done failover of CS from PR(CSPR1) to DR  Commserver(CSDR1) and what we observed that all MA and clients are still pointing to PR (CDPR1) commserver instead of DR Commserver(CSDR1). We are on V11 SP19.

Do we have to do name change operation for all the MA and Clients where they wil connect to DR (CS DR1) ?

How can we automate this name change operation wherein whenever failover or failback happens all clients and MA  will get connect to only active CS node ?

Kindly share your valuable comments please.

We Automated the same solution two different method.

Method 1: In Site A, both CommServe located in the Azure cloud. So, We implemented the solution with proxy server setup. But it is bit complicated process.

Method 2: In Site B both CommServe located in the On-Prem. Recently CommVault added one feature, enable group level intelegence to identify the Active CommServe without manual intervention. But major drwback of the feature is all of you client should be SP14 and higher. Find the refernce document.
