    Hi there,

In the past I have used CommVault to migrate user rights along with the folders between Netware volumes, ie I have created a new server / volume, installed the Netware file system iData agent and restored the contents of the source volume. The user rights were restored along with the contents of the volume.

Is it possible to do this if the new volume is on an OES / OES2 SUSE server? As Netware is being phased out, we have to migrate and I'd like to be able to use the same procedure to migrate users' rights along with the folders.

    We're currently on Simpana 8.

    Thanks,

    Harvie

Yes, the Commvault software does allow restores from a Netware 6.5
server to the linux OES platform. All user rights will be restored as long as the source and destination volumes are NSS.
