I recently removed extended retention on a primary copy and enabled it on the secondary tape copies due to low disk.  We have acquired more disk and I now want to switch this back around.

When I add extended retention back on the primary will this apply to existing jobs or only any new jobs?  If I remove the extended retention on the Secodary will that remove the extended retention on existing jobs for that copy?

    pdrace,

Applying or unchecking extended retention will apply to your existing jobs as well and will affect the retention on them.

You can see the changes take effect by running a Data on Media Aging Forecast Report. You can adjust retention and check the results using the DMAF after each adjustment.

Make sure you disable the Data Aging Job (CommServe Properies -->Activity Control) when expirementing as the DA job will lock the changes into place.
