when running system state backups on our domain controllers the backups do finish but with one error:

Description: System State Backup of component [NPS Database;] failed

searching shows that it is a Network Policy Server (NPS)

anyone ever have this error or know how to fix it? or even shed some light on what it is.

    thx!

    MikeO,

You may want to schedule a reboot to see if that corrects it.  If not, please try these links to see if this helps out:

    thx JW,

read you reply from another post and in the first link it states:

To verify the status of connection request policies on your NPS server

    1. To open the NPS console, click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Network Policy Server.

    2. In the NPS console tree, double-click Policies.

    3. In the console tree, click Connection Request Policies.

    4. In the details pane, locate the connection request policies that are configured on your NPS server. Make sure that at least one connection request policy’s state is set to Enabled.

issue is Network Policy Server isnt listed.

Please refer to the following Microsoft KB. This issue is occurring on the operating system and not within CommVault. A reboot may correct the issue, but only temporarily.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949470

You can filter the component by adding {NPS Databaseto the subclient filters.
